Introduction to the work:

Eating is eaten by personal talk about the reflective nature of human life. Talking about food problems in Indonesia is certainly still considered incomplete, how could it not be when the growth in the economic sector is still relatively small, job opportunities are still very small, and second-class people still dominate in this country. Even though the government has certainly not closed its eyes to the disparities that occur in this country. Isn’t it true that it seems almost impossible for the State to place its own people. It is clearly impossible for the leadership of the State to dismiss a meatball vendor who is clearly always traveling around the complex selling political party publications coupled with extra spicy chili sauce from the mouths of second-class people. Intriguing indeed, but the case certainly has an impact that is quite astonishing.

The rumors of politicization discourse through food can be a discourse on the publication of a country’s existence, noodles from Indonesia, for example, offer the taste of Indonesia to foreign countries. In this case it is quite neat but can be quite interesting, just imagine if the existence of a pack of noodles is stronger than the existence of a country that is arguably developed. Not only food, alcoholic beverages from the archipelago are also successfully known widely in this hemisphere, call it Ciu from Bekonang with the motto love this for you or Arak Bali which is quite famous among tourists visiting the island of the Gods clearly gives a plus point to the existence of a country through online and offline publications.

At the age of eleven, Serbuk Kayu as a Surabaya-based collective is actually not focused on the problems in the paragraph above, the important point of discussion lies in the angle of negotiating the exchange of food collectives. Actually, the concept of food collectives has been practiced from the times of ancient kingdoms in the archipelago, for example, food granaries containing agricultural products in villages in that era successfully accommodated the food of the entire community and were quite effective in overcoming the food crisis in one kingdom. These life cycle concepts are enough to inspire the performance art that will be displayed by the performance art crew at the Visual Partner Exhibition.

In practice, performance artist friends will provide space along with some food ingredients for the audience, and as an exchange negotiation the audience will write down their favorite food recipes freely which will later be installed into an artifact of one of the works on display. The performance artist’s artifact in the form of a cart with a caravan-style concept is used as an interactive work for the audience and invites all audiences present to get involved during the performance. Space artworks offer momentum as a center for discussion and information exchange by prioritizing pragmatic value. But not only prioritizing the aesthetic aspect, this work also ignites art activities that are happening with the honesty that occurs in the field.

The hope for a peaceful life, mutual synergy between humans and the environment is certainly a wish and prayer for all people. Art as a date for human civilization is certainly very free to be used as a reflective tool for ancient cultures that are increasingly being eroded by technological advances. True independence does not mean being a human being who is indifferent and indifferent to the rhythm of the universe, a culture that is considered noble must certainly be preserved with a very solid foundation. A country that loses its culture is certainly more despicable than an unclothed human being.
